Bee writes, "I have been exploring the challenges in education within rural Alaska. I visited four places in the bush: Nome, Port Alsworth, Galena, and Barrow (top of the world). This is such an amazing opportunity to travel all over the great state I live in! In the first two photos, I am surrounded by whale bones in Barrow. The classroom with the trapped foxes hanging is a science classroom in Port Alsworth, Alaska, where students hunted for a project. In the last photo with the skis, I was in Nome as a coach, introducing cross-country skiing to elementary students with a program called 'Skiku'."
